Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery and vehicle theft that occurred early Sunday morning in Millsboro.
Officials said on September 29, 2024, at approximately 5:15 a.m., troopers responded to the area of Hollyville Road and Mount Joy Road for a reported robbery. The investigation showed that two victims had driven to the location to meet an acquaintance.
When the female victim exited her vehicle to enter another car with the suspect, she was robbed at gunpoint, and the suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash according to police. Meanwhile, another unidentified suspect forced the male victim out of his vehicle and fled the scene in the stolen car police said. The vehicle was later recovered by detectives.
The incident involved three suspects: two black males and one black female. Through investigative leads, detectives identified 27-year-old Javontai Ricketts, of Seaford, as one of the suspects police said Tuesday.
An arrest warrant is on file for Ricketts. He is wanted for the following offenses: Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Robbery 2nd Degree, Aggravated Menacing, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Conspiracy 2nd, and Theft Under $1500.
