The Delaware State Police arrested 41-year-old Antoine Carter of Middletown, for a carjacking that occurred at a New Castle area Dash-In yesterday afternoon.
Officials said at approximately 3:34 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a carjacking at the Dash-In, located at 154 N. Dupont Highway in New Castle. Upon arriving, troopers learned the 37-year-old victim was followed by a friend to the Dash-In parking lot.
Once in the parking lot, the friend, identified as Antoine Carter, approached the victim, punched her in the face through the open window, and threw her to the ground after forcibly removing her from her vehicle police said. Carter then fled from the area in the victim’s Chevrolet Impala. A short time later, Carter returned to the Dash-In, where he was taken into custody by troopers without incident.
Carter was taken to Troop 2, where he was charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Felony). He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $20,000 secured bond.
