Officials Update Bank Robbery Suspect’s Arrest

Wilmington Police have charged Quincy Taylor, a 34-year-old Wilmington resident, in connection to a recent attempted bank robbery.

On November 8, 2024, at approximately 11:41 a.m., officers from Wilmington’s Uniformed Services Division responded to an attempted robbery at a bank in the 200 block of North Union Street. Upon arriving, officers gathered a description of the suspect, which they shared with nearby units. Soon after, Elsmere Police Department officers, patrolling the 900 block of New Road, observed a male matching the suspect’s description. Quincy Taylor was detained without incident and found to be wanted on an unrelated warrant.

Taylor is charged with Attempted Robbery (Second Degree) following this incident and was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11. He is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $6,000 cash-only bail on the Wilmington charge.

Troopers have also charged Quincy after an investigation into a November 4, 2024, bank robbery at the Fulton Bank on Foulk Road in Wilmington. In that incident, Delaware State Police responded to a robbery report at approximately 1:38 p.m., where a male suspect, later identified as Taylor, allegedly presented a demand note to a bank employee and escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect fleeing on foot toward Wilson Road.

Detectives identified Taylor as the suspect in the November 4 robbery through investigative means, leading to the above mentioned warrant for his arrest. After being taken into custody by Elsmere Police, he was transferred to Wilmington Police, where he faced charges for Robbery (Second Degree), a felony, related to the Fulton Bank robbery. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and remains held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $32,000 cash bond on the Fulton Bank charge.
