Happening Now: Two Alarm Fire Racing Through Newark Neighborhood

Firefighters have responded to a residential structure fire in the 100 block of Versailles Court in Newark. The first arriving crews encountered heavy fire engulfing all three floors of a townhouse, with flames rapidly spreading to neighboring homes.

The fire has reportedly affected at least one neighboring structure according to initial reports. Command struck a second alarm, summoning additional resources to assist.

Reports from the scene indicate that fire has broken through the roof of the primary structure, complicating containment efforts. Firefighters are working to bring the blaze under control, using multiple hose lines. In addition to firefighting efforts, crews are performing a search of the impacted homes to ensure all residents have been evacuated.

Crews remain on scene battling the fire. At this time, it is unclear if there are any injuries, or the number of individuals displaced by the fire. Updates will be shared as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for further updates as this story develops.
