On Sunday, January 26, 2025, at 12:19 A.M., Patrol Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the unit block of Cheswold Boulevard following a report of shots fired.
Officials said residents of the apartment complex reported hearing a gunshot followed by the sound of glass breaking. Upon investigation, they discovered a bullet hole in the ceiling and wall. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they located a projectile inside the apartment.
Patrol Officers, assisted by Detectives from the Evidence Detection Unit, investigated the origin of the bullet hole, leading them to the apartment of 31-year-old Daniel Morrison. Officers executed a search warrant at his apartment and discovered that a section of the wall had been recently spackled to conceal bullet holes at the entry point according to police. Additionally, Officers found a handgun, a rifle, and an unsealed container of drywall spackle.
Daniel Morrison was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters, where he was charged with Six felony counts of reckless endangerment in the first degree, One felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and One felony count of tampering with physical evidence
He was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institution after failing to pay $39,000.00 secure bail.
