The Delaware State Police, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Delaware Violent Crime and Safe Streets Task Force, arrested 33-year-old Guy Calloway of Wilmington on multiple felony gun and drug charges after a months-long investigation concluded on Monday.
Officials said on January 6, 2025, Delaware State Police Troop 2 Drug Unit and Special Operations Response Team executed search warrants on properties linked to Calloway on the 800 block of East 13th Street in Wilmington. The search warrants were obtained following a several-month long drug investigation with the FBI of Guy Calloway, who was suspected of the large-scale distribution of narcotics. When officers arrived to conduct the searches, Calloway attempted to evade arrest by fleeing on foot but was apprehended near the Brandywine River after a brief pursuit according to police.
A search of the properties and Calloway resulted in the seizure of a Taurus handgun, multiple firearm magazines, and rounds of ammunition. Officers also recovered approximately 432 grams of cocaine, 48 grams of crack cocaine, 234 grams of marijuana, $19,928 in suspected drug proceeds, and various drug distribution materials such as digital scales and packaging supplies. A criminal background check revealed that Calloway, a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition added police.
Calloway was taken into custody and transported to Delaware State Police Troop 2, where he was charged with the following offenses:
- Two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
- Two counts of Possession of Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition by a Person Prohibited Prior Violent Crime or Felony (Felony)
- Resisting Arrest
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Following his arrest, Calloway was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and subsequently committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $163,000 cash bond.
