Newark House Fire Injures One Thursday Afternoon

Just before 12:30 Thursday afternoon, emergency crews responded Thursday afternoon to reports of a house fire with entrapment on the unit block of Broadleaf Road in Newark.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers attempted to make entry into the home, where a fire was reported on the first floor. Firefighters arrived shortly after and entered the residence, confirming the presence of active flames. During their search, one victim was located inside the home.

Firefighters worked to bring the fire under control while evacuating of the individual. The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital by emergency medical services. The extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time.
