Six Injured, 36 Displaced in Fox Run Apartment Fire

A devastating fire swept through the Fox Run Apartment Complex on the Wednesday, afternoon, leaving six people injured, two critically, and displacing dozens of residents.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze, which caused extensive damage estimated at over $1 million.

At approximately 2:30 p.m., the Christiana Fire Company was dispatched to the 1000 block of Woodchuck Place, where crews encountered heavy fire and smoke engulfing the three-story apartment building. Officials said emergency responders, including New Castle County Paramedics and Fire Department EMS teams, treated six individuals on-site before transporting them to Christiana Hospital. Two of the critically injured were later transferred to Crozer Hospital in Pennsylvania for advanced care.

The Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region deployed disaster response volunteers to assist twelve families displaced by the fire. Immediate assistance included financial aid, replacement of essential items such as medications and eyeglasses, and emotional and mental health support. The organization has committed to providing ongoing recovery resources in the coming weeks.

Approximately 36 residents were displaced by the incident.
