Firefighters from New Castle County, Delaware, and Chester County, Pennsylvania, responded to a house fire on Saturday afternoon in the 2100 block of Navaro Road, located in the Oak Lane Manor neighborhood. The fire, initially reported at 2:51 PM, was believed to have originated in the kitchen before rapidly spreading to the second floor, according to early radio traffic.
First-arriving crews encountered smoke coming from the home and initiated an attack to contain the blaze. Simultaneously, search teams conducted a thorough sweep of the residence and confirmed that no occupants were inside.
To ensure uninterrupted fire service coverage for the community, Talleyville Command called for station covers as operations continued. Mutual aid assistance from Chester County, Pennsylvania, bolstered local efforts.
Fire investigators arrived by mid-afternoon to assess the cause and origin of the fire. Crews remained on-site to address hot spots and verify the fire was completely extinguished.
