Driver Escapes Serious Injury As Tree Falls On Car

Chester County Desk – A 75-year-old woman sustained minor injuries Sunday evening when her vehicle was struck by a falling tree amid severe winds in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

According to a crash report from Pennsylvania State Police, the incident occurred at approximately 8:34 p.m. on February 16, 2025, on Pottstown Pike, south of Pughtown Road in South Coventry Township. Authorities reported that the Downingtown woman was traveling southbound in a 2024 Subaru Ascent when a tree, brought down by strong winds, struck her vehicle.

The impact caused significant damage to the top and front windshield area of the Subaru, forcing the vehicle to come to rest facing south. Emergency responders from Goodwill Fire Company evaluated the woman for suspected minor injuries at the scene, but she was not transported to a hospital.

Eagle Services Incorporated towed the damaged vehicle from the scene, while members of Ridge 1 Fire Company assisted with traffic control.
