Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have charged 30-year-old Gabriel Rosario with multiple felony counts of sexual assault following an extensive investigation into a case reported in January 2024 within the Edgemoor Gardens community.
Investigators determined that in April 2023, Rosario, who was acquainted with the victim, used a fake social media account to initiate contact. Officials said over time, he coerced the victim into sending explicit photographs and ultimately pressured them into engaging in intercourse through a series of threatening messages.
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service, authorities located Rosario in Landisville, Pennsylvania. He was taken into custody on an out-of-state fugitive warrant and is currently awaiting extradition to Delaware, where he faces multiple charges, including:
- Six felony counts of sexual extortion
- Five felony counts of dangerous crimes against a minor under 14 years old
- Five felony counts of first-degree rape
- Five felony counts of sexual abuse of a child by a person of trust in the first degree
- Four felony counts of unlawful sexual contact in the second degree
- One felony count of second-degree rape
Rosario was arraigned in Pennsylvania and remains in Lancaster County Prison after failing to post a $500,000 bail.
