A 40-year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery at a Dunkin’ Donuts in New Castle early Sunday morning.
According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded to a reported robbery at approximately 2:32 a.m. on February 23, 2025, at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 4004 North Dupont Highway. The investigation determined that a male suspect entered the business, sat at a table, and engaged in conversation with a female store employee. After some time inside the establishment, the suspect produced a firearm and demanded money from the cash register. The employee complied, and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.
Responding troopers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect at the time. However, through investigative efforts, detectives from Troop 2 Criminal Investigations identified Raymond Wilson, of New Castle, as the individual responsible for the robbery police said Tuesday.
On February 24, 2025, detectives located Wilson in New Castle and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with multiple felonies, including Robbery in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony.
Following his arraignment at Justice of the Peace Court 2, Wilson was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington on a $105,000 cash bond.
