Police: Man Shot Waiting At Red Light Thursday

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, at approximately 11:44 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to ChristianaCare Wilmington Hospital following a report of a 37-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

Upon investigation, officers determined that the individual sustained the injury while seated in his vehicle at the intersection of Society Drive and Naamans Road, awaiting a traffic signal change. After being shot, the victim managed to drive himself to the hospital, which was about nine miles from where he was shot. He is currently in stable condition.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or potential suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the New Castle County Division of Police.
