The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that the house fire that occurred on Saturday afternoon February 22 in Claymont Delaware was accidental.

officials said the Claymont Fire Company was alerted to a fire in the 3500 block of Naamans Drive, in the Darley Green Neighborhood just before 5:00 PM. Upon arrival they found smoke and water coming from a townhouse. Further investigation revealed a fire inside of the townhouse with the sprinkler system activated.

Deputy Fire Marshal’s responded to the scene and determined the fire originated in the living area and was caused by a candle igniting a piece of furniture.
