Two Airlifted After High-Speed Head-On Collision in Georgetown

A high-speed head-on collision on Old Furnace Road near Fleetwood Pond Road left two people seriously injured Tuesday afternoon. The crash, reported at approximately 4:20 p.m., brought emergency crews to the scene as initial reports indicated critical injuries.

Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 2 and LifeNet were both dispatched to transport the injured patients to Christiana Hospital in Stanton for emergency medical care. Authorities have not yet released details on the identities or conditions of those involved, but both victims reportedly suffered serious injuries.

Emergency responders, including local fire companies and paramedics, worked quickly to stabilize the patients before they were flown to the hospital.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes as authorities remain on scene conducting their investigation.
