Active Shooter Training Underway In Odessa Friday Morning

Delaware State Police, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies and emergency response crews, are currently conducting a full-scale emergency response exercise on Friday, March 28, at the Fairview Campus in Odessa.

The exercise, scheduled between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., is part of a coordinated effort to enhance preparedness and interagency cooperation in the event of a critical incident. The planned drill involves the participation of local law enforcement, school officials, and other emergency services and is not in response to any current threat.

Officials have advised that a significant presence of first responders will be visible throughout the area during the training, particularly near the Fairview Campus and surrounding locations, including Westown Movies in Middletown. The exercise aims to simulate real-world emergency conditions to test response protocols, communication systems, and coordination among multiple public safety entities.

Residents and motorists in the vicinity are urged to remain aware of increased activity and to follow any directions from public safety personnel.
