Milford, DE – A man accused of a domestic-related stabbing in November 2024 has been extradited to Delaware and formally charged in connection with the crime, authorities announced Monday.
Derrick Legree, 37, of Milford, was taken into custody on Monday by the U.S. Marshal’s Task Force in Philadelphia. On February 28, 2025, Legree was extradited back to Delaware, where he now faces multiple felony charges, including Attempted Murder.
The charges stem from an incident on November 3, 2024, when Milford Police responded to the 200 Block of Tull Way at approximately 9:49 p.m. for reports of a domestic-related stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a female victim and provided first aid until she was transported to an area hospital. She was listed in critical but stable condition.
Upon his return to Delaware, Legree was formally charged with:
- Attempted Murder 1st Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Legree was presented before Justice of the Peace Court 2, where he was committed to the Delaware Department of Correction on a $622,000 cash bond. He also received an additional $25,000 cash bond for an active Violation of Probation. The court issued no-contact orders between Legree and the victims in this case.
