On Sunday evening emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision after a vehicle crashed into a home. The incident occurred at approximately 7:44 p.m. near the intersection of Mermaid Boulevard and Inverness Court in Pike Creek.
New Castle County Paramedics, Mill Creek Fire Company, and the New Castle County Collapse Team arrived to find a silver Chevrolet Trailblazer had struck the home, causing serious structural damage.
Emergency responders located a 30-year-old male who sustained minor injuries. Mill Creek Fire Company EMTs provided initial care before New Castle County Paramedics assessed and treated him at the scene. The patient was then transported to Christiana Hospital in Newark via a Mill Creek Fire Company ambulance, with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying him. Authorities said he was in stable condition at the time of transport.
The New Castle County Collapse Team and Technical Rescue Paramedics were deployed to evaluate the extent of the damage and make temporary structural repairs. Officials did not immediately release information regarding the occupants of the home or whether anyone inside was injured.
