One Injured In Route 141 Crash Thursday

Newport, DE – Emergency crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with entrapment at approximately 1:34 p.m. on March 6, 2025, in the area of West Basin Road and the I-95 northbound onramp. New Castle County Paramedics, alongside the Minquas Fire Company of Newport and mutual aid fire companies, arrived on the scene to find one individual trapped inside a vehicle.

Fire department personnel successfully extricated the trapped individual within 10 minutes. Emergency medical teams assessed two patients at the scene.

A 67-year-old male, who had been trapped in his vehicle, was treated for possible chest injuries by New Castle County Paramedics and transported in stable condition to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. A second individual, a 66-year-old male, was evaluated at the scene but declined transport to the hospital.

The crash closed Route 141 NB while crews worked to clear the accident. The Delaware State Police are investigating the accident,
