Police: Two Facing Murder After Leaving Elderly Woman To Die

Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Brandon Holland, and 43-year-old Edward Jobes, both of Dover, for murder and other related charges following a death investigation that occurred in Dover last week.

Officials said on March 20, 2025, troopers responded to a residence on the 1300 block of Wyoming Mill Road in Dover, to check on the welfare of the resident following a report from a healthcare facility that caused concern for the resident’s safety and well-being.

Upon arriving at the residence, troopers found the victim, 77-year-old Lynda Carson-Fizer, deceased with physical injuries. Due to the unknown circumstances surrounding the victim’s death, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation.

Officials said that during their investigation, Homicide Detectives discovered an acquaintance of the victim, identified as Brandon Holland, had assaulted the victim during an argument on March 17, 2025. Following the assault, Holland, and a second suspect, identified as Edward Jobes, fled from the residence, rendering the victim with no means to care for herself or seek aid due to her injuries police said.

On March 23, 2025, Holland and Jobes were taken into custody without incident. Both suspects were taken to Troop 3, where they were each charged with murder.

Holland (L) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Felony) and Criminal Contempt, He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,001,000 cash bond.

Jobes (R) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree (Felony), He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,000,000 cash bond.
