Wilmington Police have arrested two male juveniles and recovered a stolen vehicle following a pursuit in the early hours of March 12.
At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division were patrolling in the 500 block of West 4th Street when they identified a stolen vehicle. When police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply and fled the area.
A short time later, officers located the abandoned vehicle near West 9th and Monroe Streets. Two male subjects exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. Following a brief pursuit, officers apprehended both individuals without further incident.
A 15-year-old male juvenile was taken into custody and charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500 and resisting arrest, in addition to multiple traffic violations. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $3,000 unsecured bail.
A 16-year-old male juvenile was charged with resisting arrest. He was also arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center pending further proceedings.
