Wilmington Police have confirmed that the deceased woman located earlier this month along the Christina River has been identified as 32-year-old Normaris Colón Valles, who was previously reported missing from Philadelphia in November 2024.
The Wilmington Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division working with the Philadelphia Police Department as part of the ongoing investigation. Colón Valles had last been seen on November 21, 2024, at approximately 3:00 a.m. at a sports bar located at 8200 Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia. At that time, she was reportedly in the company of several Hispanic males and possibly traveling in either an older model black dual-exhaust pickup truck or a grey BMW.
On March 4, 2025, at approximately 5:59 p.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of East 7th Street in Wilmington after receiving a report of a deceased person located on the banks of the Christina River. Upon arrival, officers discovered human remains, which were subsequently turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Sciences for examination.
An autopsy indicated that the deceased was a white female, estimated to be between 25 and 35 years old, and that the body may have been in the river since December. There were no immediate indications of foul play, and the cause of death has yet to be determined police said.
On March 24, Wilmington Police released sketches depicting two tattoos found on the victim’s body in an effort to aid in identification. Those images matched identifying features associated with Colón Valles, including a distinctive flower and vine tattoo on her chest and upper back.
