Woman Critically Injured, Dogs Perish In Fire Friday

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating a House Fire that occurred Friday afternoon in Wilmington, DE.

At approximately 1:30 PM Friday afternoon, The Brandywine Hundred  Fire Company was alerted to a house fire in the unit block of Ridgeland Rd., in the Lynnfield neighborhood of Wilmington. Upon arrival the Fire Department found smoke coming from the roof and windows of the house. Multiple Fire Departments responded to assist with extinguishment.

State Fire Marshal Deputies were called to the scene and are currently investigating the origin and cause of the fire.

A sixty seven year old female was removed from the residence and transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition by Fire Department EMS and New Castle County Paramedics. The victim has since been transported to Crozer Chester Burn Center. Unfortunately the two family dogs were found deceased in the residence. No other injuries were reported.

Damage is estimated at approximately 100,000 dollars.
