On Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., residents and visitors alike will gather at Carter Farm, located at 818 Union Church Road in Townsend, Delaware, for “Brewing for a Better Community,” a fundraising event dedicated to supporting Neighborhood House and its outreach efforts in the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend (M.O.T.) area.
The event will showcase four of Middletown’s prominent craft breweries: Volunteer Brewing Company, First State Brewing Company, JAKL Beer Works, and Crooked Hammock Brewery. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample locally crafted beers while enjoying an evening designed to bring families and neighbors together.
The festivities will feature live music, a country-style barbecue, outdoor games, hayrides, and a bonfire. Designed as a family-friendly event, children aged 12 and under will be admitted free of charge. Adults can choose from two ticket options: a $45 ticket for food and general admission to the event, or a $75 ticket which includes beer tastings in addition to food and event access. Tickets and be found at https://www.neighborhoodhse.org/event-details/brewing-for-a-better-community-2
Proceeds from the evening will benefit Neighborhood House, a community-based organization that offers after-school programs and multi-generational services to families in the region. Funds raised will support the development and expansion of these programs, which play a vital role in providing educational and social resources for local youth and families.
Organizers encourage community members to attend and show their support while enjoying an evening of food, music, and fellowship in a relaxed farm setting.
