Driver Sought In Fatal Hit-And-Run

The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run crash that occurred Friday night in Wilmington that left one man dead.

Officials said on April 4, 2025, at approximately 11:36 p.m., a pedestrian was walking southbound, in the lane of travel, on Augustine Cut-Off south of Alapocas Drive. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling southbound on Augustine Cut-Off near Alapocas Drive. The investigation showed that the front of the unknown vehicle hit the pedestrian and fled southbound on Augustine Cut-Off.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family has been notified.

The roadway was closed for approximately 3 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
