ODESSA, Del. — The Historic Odessa Foundation will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 13, 2025, welcoming children from toddlers through fifth grade for an afternoon of festive activity on the grounds of the National Historic Landmark Corbit-Sharp House. The event will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public, though reservations are required by Friday, April 11 at 4 p.m.
Organizers have scheduled staggered hunt times by age group to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. The event begins with a preschool egg hunt at 2:00 p.m., followed by kindergarten and first grade at 2:15 p.m., second and third grades at 2:45 p.m., and fourth and fifth grades concluding the event at 3:00 p.m.
The historic setting of the Corbit-Sharp House gardens provides a unique backdrop for the Easter celebration. “Each year, our Easter Egg Hunt brings together families to celebrate spring, community, and the joy of discovery—right here where history lives and memories are made,” said Debbie Buckson, executive director of the Historic Odessa Foundation.
The event will be held at 202 Main Street in Odessa. To register, participants are asked to contact Jennifer Cabell at 302-378-4119 or via email at [email protected].
The Easter Egg Hunt is one of several community-oriented events presented by the Historic Odessa Foundation, which preserves and interprets a 72-acre area of 18th and 19th century structures in southern New Castle County. Open to the public from March through December, the Foundation offers tours, special exhibitions, educational programs, and seasonal events. The organization is a member of the North American Reciprocal Museum Association and provides access to five historic museum properties that display over 7,000 objects and furnishings dating from 1760 through 1850.
