Pedestrian Struck In Holloway Terrace Saturday

New Castle County Police are investigating a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred Saturday afternoon in the Holloway Terrace community.

At approximately 12:01 p.m., emergency crews responded to the intersection of West Avenue and Fifth Street for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Initial reports from the scene indicated that the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

New Castle County Division of Police confirmed that officers remain on scene conducting an investigation. As a result, the roadway has been closed to traffic in the area of West Avenue and Fifth Street. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

Authorities have not released further details about the cause of the crash or the identity of the pedestrian. Additional updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
