Delaware State Police are investigating the discovery of a male body found during firefighting operations in the Milford area on Wednesday day afternoon. Firefighters responded to a brush fire in the vicinity of Big Stone Beach Road and Gobbler Lane, located north of Milford, where the body was located while crews worked to bring the fire under control.
Emergency personnel were initially dispatched to the scene shortly before 2:45 p.m. As the fire was being extinguished, firefighters requested crime scene tape, police assistance, and paramedics. Shortly after, a covering was also requested, confirming suspicions that human remains had been discovered.
Delaware State Police, along with the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office, are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
