Emergency crews responded to a serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment Tuesday afternoon in Kent County. The crash occurred at approximately 12:08 p.m. at the intersection of Alley Mill Road and Clayton Delaney Road, reportedly involving two vehicles and a utility pole.
First arriving units from Clayton Fire Company confirmed that at least one occupant was trapped inside a vehicle. Crews from Citizens’ Hose Company No. 1 Inc. of Smyrna, American Legion Ambulance Service Station 64, Kent County Department of Public Safety, Townsend Fire Company, and Cheswold Volunteer Fire Company were also dispatched to assist at the scene. Delaware State Police Aviation Section Trooper 4 was initially requested to provide medical support but did not transport.
Command 45 reported that extrication was completed at 12:31 p.m. Two patients were transported from the scene for medical treatment. The total number of individuals involved in the crash has not been confirmed.
The road was closed for an extended period of time while the crash was investigated. This is a developing story.
