Two Injured in Rollover Collision on I-495 Wednesday

New Castle County emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision with rollover and ejection on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at approximately 1:13 p.m. The incident occurred on I-495 in the area of North DuPont Highway and involved multiple vehicles.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics, along with fire and EMS units from Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Minquadale Fire Company, and Minquas Fire Company of Newport, confirmed that at least one vehicle had rolled over. Responders advised that a 20-year-old male had been ejected from the vehicle and was located outside upon their arrival.

Emergency Medical Technicians from Minquadale and Holloway Terrace Fire Companies provided initial care to the ejected patient, who sustained head trauma and suspected internal injuries. The individual was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and subsequently transported to Christiana Hospital in Newark in serious condition. The transport was conducted by Holloway Terrace Fire Company ambulance with paramedics on board.

A second male patient involved in the collision was transported in stable condition by a basic life support ambulance from Minquas Fire Company of Newport.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the crash.
