Police: Good Samaritan Kidnapped By Assailant

On May 3, 2025, at approximately 8:00 am, Georgetown Police Officers were contacted by the Seaford Police Department in reference to a reported kidnapping of an adult that occurred in the town limits of Georgetown about an hour earlier.

Seaford Police officers advised that they had made contact with the adult victim at the Motel 6 in Seaford. The victim told officers that he was taken from Georgetown against his will and had escaped from the suspect vehicle in Seaford.

The victim provided officers with a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle. The victim also stated that the suspect had taken him after he had assisted another man avoid a potential assault from the suspect.

After an investigation by the Georgetown Police Department, the suspect in this case was identified as Michael J. Still of Hurlock, Maryland. An arrest warrant for the suspect was then obtained. The charges on the arrest warrant include Kidnapping – First Degree, Terroristic Threatening, and Offensive Touching.

On May 6, 2025, the Dover Police Department-Delaware contacted the Georgetown Police Department, advising they had Still in custody, following a traffic stop. Georgetown Police took custody of the suspect. Following processing and arraignment, Michael J. Still was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $26,500 cash bail.
