Three Charged In Kiamensi Gardens Incident

On Monday, May 12, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the area of Stanton Road and Henlopen Avenue in Kiamensi Gardens for a report of a physical altercation involving both juveniles and adults.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a prearranged fight had occurred between two 12-year-old females shortly after they got off a school bus. During the altercation, 22-year-old Mohie Slamaa of Wilmington intervened and struck one of the juveniles according to police.

A 15-year-old female bystander tried to step in and break up the fight but was shoved by Slamaa. An 18-year-old male bystander also attempted to intervene and was thrown to the ground, where Slamaa bit and kicked him in the face according to police.

Both bystanders were transported to a local hospital, treated for their injuries, and later released.

As a result of the investigation, Mohie Slamaa was charged with one felony count of Assault 2nd Degree, Two misdemeanor counts of Offensive Touching, and One misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct.

Slamaa was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $5,000 secured bail.

Additionally, both 12-year-old juveniles were each charged with one misdemeanor count of Disorderly Conduct. They were arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on their own recognizance.
