Elkton Man Arrested In Connection With Pennsylvania Bank Robbery

On June 17, 2025, deputies with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Maryland man wanted in connection with a bank robbery that occurred earlier this year in Pennsylvania.

Authorities from the Washington Township Police Department in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, requested assistance from Cecil County deputies as part of their ongoing investigation into a February 5, 2025 robbery at Middletown Valley Bank. According to Washington Township Police, an unidentified suspect entered the bank and committed a strong-arm robbery, demanding cash from a bank teller. The suspect fled the scene with $1,820 and entered a waiting vehicle.

Officials said following a coordinated investigation with assistance from detectives of the Elkton Police Department in Maryland, Washington Township investigators identified the suspect as Phillip Aaron Brooks, a resident of the unit block of Brittany Court in Elkton.

Cecil County deputies located Brooks at his residence and took him into custody without incident. He was later reviewed by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Cecil County Detention Center, where he is being held as a fugitive pending extradition proceedings.
