Officials: Police Arrest Armed Suspect at Diversionary Class

On September 17, 2025, the Milford Police Department responded to People’s Place in the 1100 block of Airport Road after receiving a report that an individual attending a diversionary class was armed with a firearm.

Investigators determined that the subject had discarded a handgun into a trashcan inside the meeting room, which was recovered by officers, police said. The suspect was identified as 18-year-old Reginald D. Wright-McGlotten Jr. of Ellendale. When officers attempted to take him into custody, he resisted but was ultimately detained without further incident.

Wright-McGlotten was charged with: – Possession, Purchase, Control a Firearm by Person under 21 (Felony) – Possession, Purchase, Control Ammunition by Person under 21 (Felony) – Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony) – Possession, Purchase, Own or Control of a Firearm or Ammunition By a Person Prohibited (Felony) – Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon a Firearm (Felony) – Resisting Arrest (Felony) – Tampering with Physical Evidence- Evidence Suppression (Felony)

Following a presentment in Justice of the Peace Court, Wright-McGlotten was committed to the Department of Correction on $104,000 cash bond. He is scheduled to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas for a preliminary hearing at a later date.
