Newark Teen Gunned Down In Wilmington, Another Teen In Critical Condition

The Christina School District has issued a public statement acknowledging the recent shooting in Wilmington, on Wednesday, which has deeply affected members of its school community, including students and families.

According to Wilmington Police, the victim who succumbed to his injuries has been identified as a 16-year-old Newark teen. A second victim, a 17-year-old male, remains in critical condition. The shooting occurred at approximately 5:07 p.m. on October 8 in the area of 6th and Pine Streets near Maurice Pritchett Academy. The incident remains under investigation, and authorities plan to release additional information when possible.
