Reports: Man Stabbed Thursday Morning

Just after 5:00 a.m. Thursday, Wilmington emergency crews were dispatched to the 500 block of South Locust Street for reports of a shooting.

While responders were on the way, information was updated to indicate the incident could be a shooting or a stabbing. When police arrived, they secured the area and directed medical crews to clear the scene.

At about 5:45 a.m., rescue crews were called back to another location on South Locust Street. There, they located a man suffering from a stab wound to the upper torso. The patient was transported to a local hospital by Wilmington Fire Department ambulance, with New Castle County Paramedics providing advanced care during transport.

Authorities have not released further information regarding the circumstances of the incident, or the ongoing investigation.
