Delaware State Police arrested 29-year-old Donald Tinley Jr., of Milton, following a robbery investigation that began Monday morning in Sussex County.
According to Delaware State Police, troopers were called at approximately 11:00 a.m. on November 24, 2025, to the Valero located at 25776 Deep Branch Road in Milton for a reported robbery. Investigators determined that an unknown suspect entered the store, went behind the counter, demanded the clerk remove money from the registers, and took the clerk’s car keys. No injuries were reported during the incident. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and the clerk’s vehicle. A short time later, the stolen vehicle was located unoccupied in the area of New Hope Road in Ellendale. The suspect was described as a white male wearing a face covering.
Through investigative leads, troopers identified Tinley as the suspect officials said Friday. On November 26, 2025, troopers located him at a residence in the Milton area, where he was taken into custody without incident. Tinley was transported to Delaware State Police Troop 4, where he was charged, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,500 cash bond.
Tinley was charged with one count of second-degree robbery, one count of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.
