The Dover Police Department has arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with an attempted robbery at Cedar Chase Apartments that occurred last month, as well as a separate robbery at the same location earlier this year.

Police identified Nashere Edwards, of Dover, as a suspect following an investigation into an attempted robbery reported on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Officers responded to Cedar Chase Apartments, located at 1700 North DuPont Highway, at approximately 6:35 p.m. and made contact with the victims. Investigators determined that a suspect described as a Black male standing approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, wearing a camouflage face covering, a black hooded sweatshirt, and jeans, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The victims did not comply and were able to leave the area without injury.
Officials said through the course of the investigation, detectives linked Edwards to that incident and also connected him to a robbery that occurred at Cedar Chase Apartments in March 2024, during which a handgun was displayed and property was taken from a victim. Arrest warrants were subsequently obtained.
Edwards was taken into custody without incident on December 9, 2025. He was charged with one count of robbery in the first degree, two counts of attempted robbery in the first degree, two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, two counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and selling stolen property. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $147,000 cash bail.
