Fire Cop Airlifted Sunday After Crash

A fire police officer with the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company was injured Sunday afternoon while responding to a traffic collision south of Dover.

The original crash was reported at approximately 1:53 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the area of Voshells Mill Star Hill Road and Peachtree Run. Crews were dispatched for a reported single-vehicle collision involving a vehicle that had struck a utility pole. Initial reports indicated the pole was believed to be broken as a result of the impact.

Responders located a male in his 20s who was conscious and breathing at the scene. He was evaluated by emergency personnel and later transported to the hospital by ambulance. His condition has not been released.

While Camden-Wyoming Fire Company units were responding to that incident, a fire police officer from the company was involved in a separate crash at the intersection of Voshells Mill Star Hill Road and Route 13. The officer’s vehicle was struck in a T-bone-type collision at the intersection in view of rescue crews already operating at the original scene.

Due to his injuries, the officer was transported by Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 4 to Christiana Hospital for treatment.

Additional information regarding the conditions of the driver involved in the pole crash, the injured fire police officer, and the other driver involved in the second crash was not immediately available. Both incidents remain under investigation.
