Newark Crash Sends Two Young People To Hospital

A two-vehicle crash on South College Avenue at the Christina Parkway intersection in Newark left two people hospitalized Saturday evening.

First responders from the Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company and New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to the scene at about 10:21 p.m. after receiving reports of a collision with entrapment. Emergency medical crews found that the driver of one vehicle, a woman in her twenties, had been struck on the driver’s side by another vehicle believed to have been traveling at a high speed, according to reports from the scene. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

A second patient, identified as a 16-year-old female, was also taken to the hospital following the crash.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the cause of the collision or the conditions of those injured.
