Pedestrian Struck And Killed Identified By Police

The Wilmington Police Department has released the name of the pedestrian who died after being struck last week in the city.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:29 p.m. Wednesday in the area of West 4th Street and North Scott Street. Officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and located 18-year-old Malachi Albino suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The collision remains under investigation by the department’s Special Operations Division/Traffic Unit. No additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crash have been released.
