13-Year-Old Found Shot Late Tuesday

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday night in the 700 block of West 5th Street in Wilmington.

According to officials, officers responded to the area at approximately 9:59 p.m. and located a 13-year-old male who had sustained gunshot wounds. The juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition. Initial reports from the scene indicate that the child was struck multiple times.

No additional information regarding potential suspects or the events leading up to the incident were released.
