Man Facing 5th DUI Charge After Stop

The Delaware State Police reported the arrest of a 64-year-old Felton man following a traffic stop conducted Saturday afternoon in the Camden-Wyoming area.

Authorities said the arrest occurred on December 10, 2026, at approximately 2:00 p.m., when a trooper was patrolling westbound on Henry Cowgill Road near Dundee Road and observed a GMC Sierra weaving in and out of its lane of travel. A computer check of the vehicle revealed it was displaying an unregistered license plate, prompting the trooper to initiate a traffic stop.

Police identified the driver as Whitey Moore, 64, of Felton. Troopers reported that Moore displayed several signs of impairment during their initial contact. A search of the vehicle was conducted, during which troopers located multiple bottles of alcohol that had been consumed. Moore was transported to Troop 3, where officials said he continued to show signs of impairment. A blood search warrant was subsequently obtained.

According to police, a records check determined that Moore had four prior driving under the influence convictions and was operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license at the time of the stop.

Moore was charged with a fifth-offense felony driving under the influence, driving while suspended or revoked, and multiple related traffic offenses. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $5,700 cash bail.
