Man Facing Assault, Robbery Charges

A Wilmington man has been arrested following a robbery and assault investigation in the city’s East Side neighborhood.

Police responded at approximately 7:44 a.m. on February 27 to the 1100 block of Clifford Brown Walk after receiving a report that a robbery and assault had occurred. Officers from the Uniformed Services Division arrived in the area and began canvassing nearby streets for a suspect matching the description provided by the victim.

During the search, officers located an individual matching that description within the same block. Police made contact with 35-year-old Terrence Neely and took him into custody without incident. Officers also recovered property that had been reported stolen from the victim officials said.

Neely was charged with Robbery in the Second Degree and Assault in the Third Degree. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $7,000 cash-only bail.
