Police Say Man Was Operating Drug Lab While On Probation

A 26-year-old Georgetown man is facing multiple felony charges following an arrest by the Delaware State Police and members of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force.

Officials said on March 17, 2026, probation officers and task force members responded to the 500 block of Union Drive to locate Jayson Willin, who was wanted for an alleged breach of release. Detectives made contact with Willin, who attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody.

During a search, investigators recovered approximately 6.97 grams of cocaine, 1.45 grams of crack cocaine, 0.52 grams of methamphetamine, a buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual strip, a digital scale, and additional drug paraphernalia. Police said Willin was placed in a probation officer’s vehicle but managed to exit before being apprehended again a short time later.

An administrative search of his residence led to the discovery of approximately 19.96 grams of cocaine along with baking soda, a digital scale, and items containing white powder residue. Willin was transported to Troop 4, formally charged, and arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3. He was subsequently committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $78,200 secured bail. Charges include multiple felony drug offenses, operating a clandestine laboratory, resisting arrest, attempted escape, and breach of release.
