Regional Desk: Authorities in Temperanceville, Virginia are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead, multiple others injured.
According to the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded at approximately 1:41 a.m. on April 19, 2026, when the county’s Emergency Operations Center broadcast a report of an active shooter at Par 4 Bar & Grill, located along Lankford Highway.
Deputies and first responders arrived to find multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Five adult males had been shot, while another male sustained a laceration to the face. As Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived and exited their ambulance, an individual opened fire in their direction. No EMS personnel were struck during the exchange.
One male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Additional victims were treated for injuries that included gunshot wounds to the arm and back, as well as a facial laceration. One critically injured male was transported by Maryland State Police Trooper 4 to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where he remains in surgery.
Investigators identified a suspect as Skylor Dupree Crippen, also known as Skylor Dupree Harmon. Authorities said Crippen was treated for a gunshot wound to the foot and later taken into custody by deputies. He has been charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted malicious wounding of EMS personnel, and two counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Crippen is currently being held without bond at the Accomack County Jail.
Officials have not released the identity of the deceased victim, pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation remains ongoing, with the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office working in coordination with the Virginia State Police. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as the case continues to develop.
