File

A fatal single-vehicle crash is under investigation by the Delaware State Police following an incident early Sunday morning in Lewes.

Authorities said the crash occurred on April 26, 2026, at approximately 12:20 a.m., when a Dodge Ram was traveling southbound on Wil King Road, just south of Kendale Road. For reasons that remain under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway, entered a ditch, overturned onto its roof, and then struck a tree.

The driver, identified as a 27-year-old man from Lewes, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
