10-Year-Old Found Dead In Her Bedroom

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a 10-year-old child in Smyrna.

According to police, troopers were called to a home on Oakwynn Circle at approximately 2:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, after a 10-year-old girl was found dead in her bedroom.

During the initial response, troopers requested assistance from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, which has since taken over the investigation.

The child’s body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

Authorities said the investigation remains active.
