A 47-year-old woman suffered serious injuries Monday evening after an SUV rolled over and caught fire on Interstate 95.
The crash occurred at approximately 5:54 p.m. on May 18 on I-95 northbound in the area of Salem Church Road. New Castle County Paramedics, along with assisting agencies, were dispatched for a reported motor vehicle collision involving a rollover.
Emergency crews arrived to find a single-vehicle crash involving an SUV that was on fire after overturning. The female driver, identified only as approximately 47 years old, self extricated prior to responders arrival.
The woman was treated at the scene and transported by New Castle County Paramedics aboard a Christiana ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Stanton. Authorities said she was listed in serious but stable condition with extremity injuries and possible internal injuries.
Delaware State Police are investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash.
