16-Year-Old Fatally Shot Identified

A 16-year-old who was fatally shot in Wilmington earlier this week has been identified by police as Jeran Taylor of Philadelphia.

The shooting occurred at approximately 8:33 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, in the 1600 block of West 5th Street. According to Wilmington Police, Taylor was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Police released the victim’s identity Friday as the investigation continues. No additional information regarding a suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting has been released.
